About this Event
View mapThe practice of using clay as a medium for artistic expression has been in existence in many cultures, including the African diaspora, for centuries. This timely exhibition presents an important opportunity for ceramic artists to display their cultural influences to the public and serves as a reminder of what we gain when venues for artists remain accessible and inclusive. Each piece invites the audience to reconsider stereotypes based on community existing in both the physical and mental state of environments, race and racial identities, economics, and one’s place in society. As we navigate these troubling times, the pieces reflect self-reflection, strength, and the beauty of resilience.
