The Latin Ballet of Virginia celebrates its 23rd year of full and half-day camps!

The Theme for our Arts in Education Summer Camp 2023 is based on two of the Latin Ballet's original productions: Amy’s Travels and AGUASWe will delve into the magical world, celebrating history, geography and culture. It will be days filled with art, dance, theater, storytelling, and culture!

Amy’s Travels: A true and fascinating story by a Virginian writer, Kathryn Starke, about little Amy and her unforgettable journey to all seven continents.

AGUAS: A performance inspired by the new book “The James River in Richmond”, written by John Bryan, former director of CultureWorks. AGUAS is a family-oriented dance-theater production celebrating history, culture and the James River natural treasures. AGUAS honors the commemoration of the end of the war and the freedom of all enslaved African American people. AGUAS teaches the special appreciation for the river and its significance to the city of Richmond.

We will have a special visit by the authors of the books inspiring us with their own stories, imagination and love for literacy!
