Join us for Breaking Ground: Mixed Media Group Exhibition Curated by Helene Ruiz. Opening Reception is First Friday April 7, 2023 from 6-9PM with Live Music by AuriKa, Light Refreshments & cash drinks.

This group exhibition is an eclectic mix of artworks showcasing each artist's creative styles, subject matter, and individualism.

Artworks will include a variety of mediums from oil, acrylic, and found objects in 2d and 3d and will feature artists: Naomi Cordova, Robert Billings, Tahanie Medina, Josué Fred, Helene Ruiz, Dorothy Marie Rice, and Anne Hart Chay.

Breaking Groud will be on display in the Main Gallery at anne’s Visual Art Studio gallery through June 4, 2023.

"It's not over folks, as much as we would like it to be, the reality remains. There are many issues remaining, many injustices remaining, many deaths still occurring, global warming still moving faster than we can imagine, oceans are becoming toxic and we eat the fish, pollution sending toxins into the air and we breathe the air. Social media has put too many into "la la" land to the point most cannot even remember reality and has destroyed humanity. We must remember WE ARE NOT THE ONLY ONES. Consider the others, consider the future, consider the kids who have to deal with this mess. Too much to try and put into words here, I hope you can create more dialogue within your mind and soul as you view this painting." - Helene Ruiz

Helene Ruiz is an Artist, Activist, and Bronx NY transplant. She brings her vision of "The Urban Individualists" to Breaking Ground, on display April 7- June 4, 2023, at anne's Visual Art Studio gallery in the Richmond Arts District Historic RVA. Ruiz has exhibited and has been published from Richmond, Va to NYC. Her artwork is in private collections throughout the U.S. Helene Ruiz currently resides in Richmond, VA.
