Award-winning author and National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature MEG MEDINA shares insights from her writing journey, reflecting on valuable lessons learned from failures along the way. She’ll discuss what rejections can teach about improving your craft and understanding varying tastes. Hear her tips for challenges like lackluster sales and books going out of print, including advice on active marketing and building community connections. She’ll talk about abandoned projects and low event turnouts, and how it’s ok to let some things go until the right ingredients align and how innovative formats can engage your audience. If you’ve ever suffered the (totally normal) pangs of self-doubt, professional comparisons, and envy, you’ll want to join us for an invigorating and inspiring evening with Meg learning how failures can be catalysts for growth.

Registration is required and space is limited.

The Writing Show includes a social time from 6:00 pm – 6:30 pm. This portion of the evening is optional. If you choose to only attend the panel discussion, please arrive in time to find parking and be seated before the panel discussion begins at 6:30 pm.
