Local author Judy Kirby invites the community to join her for a discussion of her inspiring book, Blurred Vision: A Journey of Faith and Sight, on Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Books, Beads & More, 8107 Mechanicsville Turnpike, in Mechanicsville, Virginia.

Until age 20, Judy led a basically average life. Suddenly, a diagnosis of Stargardt’s Macular Degeneration turned her future upside down. She had to learn to adapt to a blurred world, was forced to stop driving, and accept that her ability to read and see objects and faces would continue to diminish. Legally blind since then, Kirby reflects on nearly 50 years living with this vision challenge. Her coffee table book blends poems, writings, and photographs—stunning images she personally felt called to take despite her legal blindness, which others have described as beautiful. The book offers a relatable look at managing life’s obstacles with resilience and creativity. Kirby’s story provides practical insights and encouragement for anyone facing difficulties. Have your book signed and hear more about her inspiring story.

For those unable to attend the event, the book is available through Amazon in hardcover, paperback, and Audible formats.
