Jacqui DePas Schlosser

Jacqui DePas Schlosser is a multidisciplinary artist and photographer based in Richmond, Virginia. Her creative practice moves between painting, photography, ceramics, and wearable art, connected by an ongoing exploration of color, rhythm, repetition, and form.

Her abstract acrylic paintings range from compositions built through repetitive shapes and rhythmic patterns to more intuitive, flowing works that embrace movement and spontaneity. Across both approaches, Jacqui is drawn to the process of making itself—the accumulation of marks, the relationships between colors and shapes, and the point at which a piece begins to develop its own visual language.

That same curiosity extends into her work with clay and beads. She creates functional ceramics and hand-beaded necklaces, finding particular joy in objects that are both beautiful and meant to be used, worn, held, and incorporated into everyday life.

Photography has been a constant throughout Jacqui’s creative life. Trained as a photographer and working professionally in the medium for more than a decade, her photographic background continues to influence the way she approaches composition, balance, light, color, and the act of noticing.
