Sacred Circles – No Beginning and No End

This series was inspired by the symbolism of the circle.  The circle itself is the most common and universal sign, found in all cultures.  It is the symbol of the sun and moon which has a limitless and boundless aspect. It has no beginning and no end, and no divisions, making it the perfect symbol of boundary and enclosure, of completion and returning cycles.  We cannot trace when the circle began as a sacred symbol. Perhaps it started in ancient times, when people worshipped the sun for the warmth and light it provided. “The circle is a universal symbol with extensive meaning. It represents the notions of totality, wholeness, original perfection, the Self, the infinite, eternity, timelessness, and all cyclic movement.”  Hermes Trismegistus – University of Michigan Symbolism Project.

Fifty percent (50%) of the proceeds of this show will go toward outreach programs at the RVA Creative Wellness Center.

Classes start on November 12, 2018, check out our webstie for more information and the full class schdule.
