Join us for a day of art, music, food, and beer at ArtSpring 2023. Presented by Main Street Petersburg, CultureWorks, Trapezium Brewing Company, and Three Notchd' Brewing.

Juried Art Show:

Explore regional artistic talent in a juried art show. Proceeds from art sales go to the artists and Main Street Petersburg. Our juror is Susann Whittier, MFA, Chair of the Visual Arts Department at the Appomattox Regional Governor's School.

Call Type: Outdoor Exhibition at ArtSpring Festival
Show Date: Saturday, May 13th from 2 – 6PM
Location: Appomattox Iron Works in Petersburg, Virginia
Media: Any media/Pop Up Art
Entry Fee: $30 Prizes: 1st $500, 2nd $250, 3rd $100
Entry Deadline: April 21st, 2023 (Notice of selection, April 28th)

Artists are invited to share their work with the community at an outdoor exhibition at the ArtSpring Festival at the Appomattox Iron Works in Petersburg, Virginia on Saturday, May 13th from 2 – 6PM. This event will feature a juried art show, live music by Erin & the Wildfire and Garden of Beastin’, food by Beaunuts Donuts & Hot Dogs, beer from Trapezium and Three Notch’d Brewing.

Any media is eligible and must be ready to hang/display outdoors. The entry fee is $30. Cash prizes of $500, $250, and $100 go to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, place winners. The first-place winner is also guaranteed a show at the Petersburg Area Art League. JPEGs are due by April 21st midnight EST. Notification of acceptance and online gallery opening by April 28th. Email JPEGs to ArtSpring2023@gmail.com no longer than 2000 pixels wide on the long end. Submissions must include name, age, location, and media type.

Juror: Susann Whittier

Susann Whittier is a creative professional and arts educator for 30+ years and has exhibited nationally and internationally. She is an alumnus of VCU Arts and Maryland Institute College of Art with both BFA and MFA in Sculpture. Currently, Visual Art Department Chair and Ceramic and Sculpture teacher at the Appomattox Regional Governor’s School for the Arts and Technology in Petersburg.
