Darkroom 102

Got a feel for the film process and want to learn more? Dive into the darkroom to broaden your skillset! From the basics of split-filtering to the beginnings of paper negatives and large format cameras, this course focuses on enhancing your understanding of the darkroom. Participants will learn 4x5 camera functions, the difference between contrast filters and split filtering, RC vs fiber paper, as well as beginning to explore medium and large format film.
Participants need to bring a developed roll of black & white film, your darkroom questions and get ready to go beyond the basics.

MAGGIE FLANIGAN is a newcomer to Richmond having recently completed grad school at Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia. She specializes in teaching art and photography at all levels as well as working with alternative photographic processes, printmaking, and mixed media fiber arts.
