https://modlin.richmond.edu/Bassist Edgar Meyer has been collaborating with the Scottish Ensemble—a pioneering, virtuosic string orchestra from Glasgow—for more than a decade. Together, the impressively versatile six-time Grammy Award winner and the ensemble have been exploring the roots of bluegrass and developing a unique and varied repertoire that spans hundreds of years. The concert will feature music by Bach, Holst, and Vaughan Williams, as well as contemporary compositions by Pulitzer Prize winner Caroline Shaw and by Meyer himself. The Modlin Center for the Arts is proud to be the lead commissioner of a new work by Meyer that will be part of the program.
