Free with registration (Open to all K-12 Educators)

Join the Modlin Center for the Arts and Partners in the Arts for a free professional development workshop led by teaching artist Heidi Rugg of Barefoot Puppet Theatre.

This experiential workshop will explore storytelling through puppetry, giving educators the tools to promote approaches to learning, observation skills, and descriptive skills through hands-on puppet creation and performance. Using the performing arts as a lens, educators from all content areas are invited to participate to develop teaching approaches that cultivate more responsive and inclusive learning environments.

A light meal will be provided, with time allocated for group building and networking. Seating is limited and advanced registration is required. Participants will receive a 3-hour PD certificate (up to 5-hour available), eligible for VDOE recertification.

Barefoot Puppet Theatre performs Galapagos George as part of the Modlin Center Free Family Arts Day. Explore this and other upcoming performances at modlin.richmond.edu
