Fall Festival at Richlands Dairy Farm

Sunday, October 28, 2018 at 10:00am to 4:00pm

This wonderful dairy farm welcomes families to showcase VA agriculture and demonstrate how we get our milk, while offering really fun activities for kids of all ages.  On the HAYRIDE, you may encounter wildlife that lives nearby, like, turtles, bald eagles, foxes, coyotes and maybe even a bear.  There is a huge (4 acres) CORN MAZE (design changes each year) to explore, a PETTING ZOO where you will meet pigs, goats, sheep, rabbits, and horses and you may be able to feed a horse or goat a treat.  The FARM WALKING TOUR introduces you to milk production, the dairy barn, the calf barn, the milking parlor - what makess a dairy farm go.  What do cows eat?  How are cows milked and when? The CHILDREN'S Area has interactive exhibits that explore the many aspects of agriculture with games, crafts, coloring, a no-kick milk cow, corn hole, a cottonseed pit, and more.  You may also go to the pumpkin patch and select and purchase your very own special pumpkin!  Concessions are available, but you may bring a picnic and find a shady spot.  No pets please.  Saturdays at 10:00 AM & Sundays at 1:00 PM.  Cash & Credit Cards Accepted.
