About this Event
View mapA weekly concert showcasing Richmond’s GOLDMINE of music talent! In person and livestreamed, presented by Shockoe Records and In Your Ear Studios.
Fuse Ensemble is a concept-based electroacoustic chamber ensemble based in Washington, DC and Richmond, VA. Each season a concept is presented, giving voice to new music composers and creating musical happenings with visual elements of live or interactive video, electronics, or kinetic installations. They joyfully collaborate with sculptors, video artists, instrument makers, poets, and others.
Champions of new music since they began in 2008, Fuse Ensemble has performed or premiered works by many living composers with an emphasis on women, and has premiered numerous original films by Chilean Artist Edgar Endress and live interactive videos by Adam Kendall; installations by Howard Connelly, Norbert Attard and Workingman Collective. As of 2022, the ensemble is supported by Fuse Ensemble Arts Collective, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to advance the awareness of, and opportunities for, composers and artists in underrepresented groups including women, Black, Indigenous and people of color. Fuse Ensemble aims to expose audiences to a wide range of artistic perspectives and insights while encouraging the growth of a more just and inclusive new music community.
