Elegba Folklore Society will present Juneteenth, 2022, A Freedom Celebration on Sunday, June 26, 4p - 9p at the African Burial Ground, 1540 East Broad Street, in Richmond, VA.
Juneteenth, A Freedom Celebration is Virginia’s flagship Juneteenth holiday commemoration, and it attracts visitors from around the state and beyond. It reflects particular and poignant stories of enslavement and emancipation that shaped a nation, while highlighting the resolve and resilience of Africa’s children in America. In its 26th year, attendees can engage in spirit-filled performances, sacred rituals, healing cyphers, the Get Woke Youth Summit, the Freedom Market, historical perspectives and ancestral homage.
Tickets are $5, general admission. Children under 12 come free.
