Presented to complement the 2024 NCECA Multicultural Exhibition, this presentation is curated by Lydia C. Thompson. As a renowned artist and curator, Thompson has compiled a collection of ceramic pieces including some of her own creations and some from artists whose works speak about, among other things, kinship, culture, life, and living through the lens of Black sculptors. Through her work, Thompson explores a person’s relationship to the culture in which they find themselves, while retaining their identity partly through their taught traditions and ancestors.
