Big Deal Projects is beyond stoked to kick off 2025 with the US debut of Nils Westergard’s exhibition, The Amsterdam Cyclist. This body of work, created over the past three years, captures the beauty and diversity of cycling in the Netherlands through fifty unique stencil paintings, painstakingly cut by hand in the artist’s studio spaces between Richmond and Amsterdam. As a muralist who splits their time between the two cities, Nils has made a massive impact on the public art culture of cities across the US and Europe. His iconic drippy portraits have become landmarks within the communities they exist, and Nils’s penchant for using members of the local community as his models is on full display in this new body of paintings. 
This work debuted last year in Amsterdam, and this will be the first opportunity to view the work in the United States, as well as purchase the book documenting the project.
