Paradox of Liberty: Slavery at Jefferson's Monticello Exhibition

Saturday, November 28 at 10:00am to 5:00pm

The Paradox of Liberty: Slavery at Jefferson's Monticello exhibition conveys the experiences and perspectives of the 607 enslaved African Americans who lived on, built, and maintained the plantation.  Come visit, read their stories, see the 300+ artifacts, hear the oral histories as told by their descendants. We are honored to share this exhibition with you because it offers a more complete and inclusive history of Virginia and America. Our hope is that visitors will use their exhibition experience as a starting point to engage in conversations and healthy dialogue about the impact slavery has on our lives today.
