RODNEY STITH EP Release at The Hippodrome on Shockoe Sessions Live!

Tuesday, November 29 at 6:00pm to 9:00pm

Shockoe Records presents the EP release of “The Soul Chronicles of Rodney Stith” as part of their Shockoe Sessions Live concert series.

A soulful, powerful night to remember, live from the historic Hippodrome Theater in Richmond’s vibrant Jackson Ward. Join us as we celebrate the release of his new album "The Soul Chronicles of Rodney Stith" from Rodney Stith & The Soul Foundation, with special guest performances by Chance Fischer and Weldon Hill.

Rodney’s powerful, urban retro soul brings back the soulful sound of classic Rhythm and Blues. He comes across with a smooth edge, mellow on the mind yet powerful enough to stir new emotion with each note. His music captures the heart and soul of some of the all-time greats, and he has become a bridge between those artists and the new generation. Each performance brings back the nostalgic soul glory.

Kick off the holiday season and revel in an event brimming with the essence of the Richmond music scene! The event is Tuesday, November 29th. General admission and VIP tickets are available on Eventbrite. Guests are invited to dress in their retro finest!

A portion of the proceeds from this event will benefit The Historic Jackson Ward Association and RIFF Art Institute (Richmond International Film Festival).

HJWA works to preserve this community, which is the largest National Landmark District associated with African American history and culture. The association’s intent is to continue to integrate this history into the modern day experience.

RAI’s work focuses on nurturing artists through creative and business development programs, educational leadership workshops, artist fellowships for adults, and critical thinking programs for young adults.

The Hippodrome Theater is located in Jackson Ward, better known as the “Harlem of the South,” no doubt a reference to the quality musical talent that it attracted. The theater has been beautifully restored with meticulous attention to detail. Deepest gratitude to The Hippodrome for hosting this sensational evening of entertainment.

Immense thanks to Village Bank for sponsoring this grand event. Village Bank is a community bank offering deposit and loan services to individuals and businesses with branches throughout the greater Richmond area, and Williamsburg.
