RVA Celebrity Dish

RICHMOND, VA Podium Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to helping Richmond area youth find and share their voice, is celebrating its 10-year anniversary with a gala fundraiser, the RVA Celebrity Dish, October 3, at the Hippodrome Theatre.
The event will feature “dishing” three civic leaders who support Richmond area youth and Podium’s mission. The honorees are Richmond Mayor Levar Stoney, Virginia Commonwealth University Athletic Director Ed McLaughlin, and beloved Richmond vocalist and performer Desirée Roots. Richmond Squirrels Vice President and COO Todd “Parney” Parnell is a featured “disher.” Washington DC-based actor J. Shawn Durham, who recently starred as Thomas Jefferson in VPM’s The King of Crimes by David L. Robbins, is event emcee. The First African Baptist Tribute Choir will perform. Guests will also hear from Podium alumni and receive a 10-year journal, featuring youth writing from over the years.
