RVA Cures tells stories of children, caregivers, and researchers in our community who are facing the number one disease killer of children – cancer. Through exquisite photography and prose, the exhibition captures moments when they showed incredible strength and courage. It will help shine a light on the need to fund pediatric cancer research and the exciting research that is happening in Richmond, Virginia.

The centerpiece of the gallery is a wall of hand-painted, wooden zebrafish in various sizes. The zebrafish is the symbol of pediatric cancer research conducted in Richmond, funded, in part, by Connor's Heroes, and led by pediatric oncologist, Dr. Seth Corey. Childhood cancer patients, siblings, and talented local artists painted the fish. Every zebrafish is up for auction with the proceeds funding the Connor’s Heroes Pediatric Cancer Research Fund.
