Jump feet first into our summer of awesome ocean-themed programming!

This summer we’re hosting Planet Shark: Predator or Prey, so we’re diving into all things ocean and we’re kicking it off with Science After Dark: Ocean Odyssey. From photos and puppets to art and accessories, the waves of aquatic STEM fun will just keep coming!

  • Explore Gyotaku, the technique of fish printing, and design your own piece of art. Don’t worry, we’re not using real fish!
  • Design, create and test a claw to remove ocean debris and save ocean habitats for sharks and other marine animals.
  • Watch an educator dissect a spiny dogfish and investigate shark parts from tip to tail!
  • Accessorize for the occasion and try your hand at making a shark fin hat or remora necklace.
  • Meet Carl, the crab who will tell you about the time he may have judged a basking shark too quickly.
  • Strike a pose in front of our green screen and snap a photo on the beach or underwater with a shark!
  • Learn about ocean acidification and the ripple effect it can have on marine organisms.
  • Make your own shark puppet to keep the fun going at home (for our deep-sea explorers five and younger).

And more!
