Shades of the Dead: A Workshop With Author David Salisbury

Friday, October 25, 2019 at 8:30pm to 10:30pm

Maiden Mother Crone Metaphysical and The Poe Museum have joined forces to bring you David Salisbury, author of Witchcraft Activism, The Deep Heart of Witchcraft, Teen Spirit Wicca, and other occult titles, for an evening of magic in the Enchanted Garden!

David will be joining us for the evening to teach a workshop titled "Shades of the Dead: Exploring the Spirit World in Modern Witchcraft".

Ghosts. Spirits. Ancestors. Phantoms of the night… Who are the dead? What do they want from us? What does the work of the witch involve when encountering them? As the veil between the worlds wanes thin towards Samhain time, this talk will explore these questions and more.

Specific topics include:
⋆The view of the dead and their journey from pagan classic theologies
⋆The difference between spirits and ghosts
⋆Honoring the ancestors both for devotion and in magical practice
⋆The witch as medium and channel
⋆The difference between mediumship and necromancy
⋆Protection from malefic spirits

Meet & greet with David after the event, purchase one of his books, and get it signed!

The Poe Museum will have drinks available for purchase at the bar during the workshop. Additionally several exhibits in the museum will be open for viewing and the gift shop will also be open with souvenirs.
