We shall not cease from exploring
and the end of our exploring
will be to arrive where we started
and know the place for the first time
(Four Quartets: Little Giddings, T.S. Eliot)
"This body of work reflects my ongoing inquiry into the bridge between spontaneous and strategic decisions. They are non-objective explorations incorporating an evolving primal alphabet; pushing the abstract against the expressive; the subjective against the objective. Orchestrating compositions that are visually challenging to me are fuel to my fire. The method is a bulletin board approach; juxtaposing particular marks, shapes, gestures and regions that play against each other, all contributing to the general, the whole. I seek a distinctive rhythm, beat of chess moves in each. There is order within the chaos.
Struggle? Yes I struggle. I edit, edit and then submit to the work, the objective. I don’t see a painting until I am in the midst of two or three ahead of it. The future guides me back to tell me what it desires. Each work is unique in it’s own poetic voyage to reclaim the present."
