Saturday, January 11 at 8:00pm to 11:00pm
On Saturday, January 11th, the Shady Grove Coffeehouse continues its nineteenth season with a concert by Richmond-based contemporary bluegrass band The Anvil Brothers. The Anvil Brothers, formed in the winter of 2012, are a contemporary acoustic band from central Virginia with bluegrass instrumentation but are definitely not your grandfather's bluegrass. The current line-up includes Taylor Clark on bass along with original members Jim Mohr (mandolin, guitar, violin), Doug Hepler (guitar) and Donnie Durham (banjo, dobro).
At one of their shows you may hear anything from Jimmie Rodgers to Jimi Hendrix. Live shows consist of about 50% original songs and 50% cover tunes on which they have put their own stamp. The Anvil Brothers released their first CD in March of 2018..
Tickets are $10 in advance; $15 at the door. Children 12 and under are admitted free of charge; teens 13-18 are admitted at half price. Net proceeds benefit UUCC. For advance tickets, or more information, call (804) 323-4288, visit the Shady Grove web site at www.shadygrovecoffeehouse.com, or send e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org.
