Who is Downtown? Workshop

Thursday, November 7, 2019 at 5:30pm to 8:30pm

Do you live, work, or play in downtown Richmond?

Richmond artist Jonathan Lee, the University of Richmond Downtown, and Boatwright Library’s Book Arts Studio invite individuals of all backgrounds, identities, and experiences to join us in creating a portrait of Richmond’s downtown community.

After enjoying food together and a short introduction, participants will pair up, engage in one-on-one conversation, and create conceptual portraits of each other. All portraits will be part of a special exhibition, Who Is Downtown?, opening Friday, December 6, 5-7 p.m., and on view through Friday, March 13, 2020.

All workshops will be at the University of Richmond Downtown (626 E. Broad Street) and are open to adults and youth (15+). Formal art experience is not required. Lunch, dinner, or refreshments and art activities for children will be provided.
