Inthrive Film Festival: Prison’s Toll
Experience stories that immerse you in the emotional and mental toll of incarceration but still show the resilience of incarceration survivors. PLUS meet Michael from One Minute Remaining and hear him share how he has overcome the toll of incarceration.
Lockdown (15 mins) – How do you survive when the prison walls suddenly close in? Lockdown is an extraordinary 15-minute scripted short film written, directed, and performed entirely by incarcerated creators inside Washington State Penitentiary. When a sudden lockdown halts their world, a group of men must confront the intense emotional gravity of isolation, discovering that their strongest lifeline is each other. Step inside their reality to witness a raw, authentic story of human connection, resilience, and brotherhood — featuring a twist no one sees coming!
One Minute Remaining (74 mins) – Who truly serves the sentence when a loved one is locked away? One Minute Remaining is a gripping feature-length documentary that exposes the devastating collateral damage of the justice system on the families left behind. Following three families waiting for their loved ones’ release, the film highlights the urgent crisis of prisoner healthcare — anchored by Julie Magers’ fierce fight to secure critical MS treatment for her incarcerated former husband. Don’t miss this powerful exploration of love, resilience, and the untold stories of those fighting tirelessly on the other side of the wall.
Talk Back w/ Michael – We are thrilled to announce that Michael from One Minute Remaining will join us for an engaging discussion following the film screenings. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to hear firsthand insights and experiences!
