You may be surprised.

Quilting has deep roots in tradition, but tradition does not have to limit what comes next. The Richmond Quilters’ Guild (RQG) biannual quilt show brings together traditional quilts, contemporary work, and art quilts, offering a look at how artists and makers continue to experiment with a familiar medium.

Explore the exhibition and discover work that uses fabric, thread, color, pattern, and form in unexpected ways. See familiar techniques used in new ways and work that challenges expectations about what a quilt looks like and where it belongs.

Watch demonstrations and visit vendors featuring materials, tools, and resources for makers. Whether you are an artist, designer, maker, quilter, arts professional, or simply curious about textiles, come see the work, discover something new, and get a different perspective on a familiar art form.

No quilting experience required. All are welcome.
