A dimly-lit oil painting of the layout of the Windsor Farms neighborhood with a view of Agecroft Hall in the bottom left corner.

Explore the Windsor Farms neighborhood with architectural historian Chris Novelli on this tour highlighting the history and architecture of Richmond’s first comprehensively-planned community.

Windsor Farms was formed during the mid-1920s under the vision of T.C. Williams, Jr., Agecroft’s owner, as a community inspired by English country villages with the amenities of modern city living. Borrowing details from the Tudor and Colonial eras, some residents worked with well-known 20th-century architects like William Lawrence Bottomley to build their homes.

Learn about the architects, building styles, and stories that shaped this community while walking along the neighborhood’s tree-lined streets.

In the event of inclement weather, the tour will be cancelled. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing and shoes.
