Historic Petersburg Foundation, Inc. (HPF) was founded in 1967 by a group of local preservationists, including the Mayor of Petersburg and key community leaders, to protect the city’s architectural heritage. Our mission is to lead the preservation and restoration of Petersburg’s historic architecture and neighborhoods, ensuring these treasures are adapted for modern use while retaining their historical significance.

Over the decades, HPF has successfully saved numerous historic structures, from workers’ cottages to grand homes and commercial buildings, transforming them into beloved local landmarks.
