Ashby Logan Hill

Ashby Logan Hill is a poet, writer, artist, educator, and young Beat scholar from Harrisonburg, Virginia currently living in Richmond. Hill holds an MFA in Poetry from UMASS Amherst (2017) and received a B.A. in English with Creative Writing and Art Minors from James Madison University (2012). He was also a member of the American Boychoir from 2002 to 2004. His works are featured in “La Piccioletta Barca,” “The Oregon Hill Review,” “voicemail poems,” “WHURK Cultural Review,” “Byrd Whistle,” the 2024 PSV Anthology, and elsewhere. He is the author of the recently published chapbook “You Went to the River to See What it Would Be Like to Become a Fish” (Bottlecap Press 2025). As Poems for People Virginia, Logan performs personalized, typewritten poetry on demand across Virginia and was the resident typewriter poet at Rooster Walk 16, Red Wing Roots 2026, Floyd Fest – Daydream, and will be doing the same at Front Porch Fest, and Farm Aid this year.
